About Connie
Professional Experience
I have master’s in public administration with a focus on nonprofit management and a certificate in editing from the University of Washington. I work with people who are subject-matter experts first and writers second. I was co-founder of Tandem Editing, an editing partnership that supported researchers and nonprofit organizations doing good work. I have worked as a teacher, a researcher, and as an in-house editor at a nationally distributed outdoor magazine.
Editing Philosophy
Writing is hard. Writing about personal experience is harder. Writing to make a change in your education or career can feel daunting. As an editor, my role is to listen to what your stated goals are and help you convey those goals in a clear and compelling way. Throughout the editing process, I look for opportunities to use language to strengthen the fit between you and where you are applying, make your experiences shine, and help present yourself in a positive way.
Editorial Support
Editing application materials is my superpower—98% of applicants I’ve worked with have gotten the call, the interview, the offer, or advanced to the next stage.
I love collaborating with people one-on-one and helping them get to the next stage of their education or career.
